| Thursday, 15 December 2011 Time's almost up to write to win - Our memory isn't what it used to be, but when it comes to the holidays we sure have some humdingers from the past. We know you do, too - like the time Aunt Pat cooked the turkey at 450 degrees (we think she may have used a recipe written by a second-grader) or when we opened the box of salt dough ornaments and discovered some very stuffed (and long gone to their just reward) mice. We'll be publishing your holiday memories later this month and giving a gift certificate for a massage from Victoria's Day Spa in Yorktown to a winner in both categories, but you have to send them first. Details, details, we know, but the deadline is Friday, Dec. 16. If brevity is your thing, we're also soliciting your holiday haikus. Yes, we mean those short poems we learned about in the fourth grade. A refresher: 17 syllables total, with three lines featuring 5, 7 and 5 syllables. Easy! Choose and do send one (or more) to holiday@wydaily.com. Click here to read last year's winners.
